Itinerary

The dates of our workshop are timed for some of the best photographic conditions of aurora and sunrise/ sunset and even midday with soft light.

The exact itinerary will be kept flexible to account for the weather and current conditions. We will optimize our time for the best possible photography. The itinerary below is just an example of what you can expect. If we shoot the night skies, we will likely skip sunrise the following morning.

Our photography workshop schedul is arranged very tight. In addition to shooting sunrises and sunsets, there are often scenic spots to shoot in midday if we do not have a long drive to our next destination. Due to the weather conditions we cannot go out to shoot, we will have post-processing inspiration, instruction seminar or photo critique.

Day 1: We will pick you up at Leknes Airport (LKN). no later than 3pm and then check in our hotel located in the beautiful town Reine. Afterwards we will go out for sunset shooting. In the evening, we will have an orientation. We will cover many techniques you will be using during the workshop and discuss the itinerary in detail.

Day 2-4: We will have sunrise, sunset and midday shooting. And we will explore the historic village of Reine, Lofoten’s most prized jewel. We will photograph all the iconic viewpoints, traditional fisherman cabins, jagged granite mountains, colorful fjords and lots more. The surrounding area and islands are extremely picturesque.

Day 5-8: We will stay in the lodge of Leknes. This area is very close to the world renowned beaches such as Utakleiv, Haukland, Unstad and Vik. All of which are ideal in regards to Aurora activity. We will photograph the aurora from some of these beaches and look for interesting ice formations and foreground elements to make our Aurora images stand out. Surrounding beaches include; Ballstad, Vareid, Myrland and Valberg. And we will drive a little bit north to have photography session in  several beautiful fishing village and towns.

Day 8: After sunrise shooting, we will drive you to Leknes Airport (LKN) reluctantly to say goodby. 

​

When we get home, we will set up zoom class schedule to have Photo critique and Post-Processing Inspiration and Instruction in zoom class.
